Yet another new project! LOL!

Okay, I really think I might have ADD! I had to start another new project! Are the others done that I have posted about? Nope! But I have wanted to do this wall hanging since last year! It was featured in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine, December 09 issue, by Lynda Hall.  Anyway, I decided to do needle turn applique instead of something with fusible web or freezer paper for a change! I love it! I had only tried it once, when Mom showed me how years ago, and thought it would be too time consuming. But now after just about completing the tree last night, I decided that by the time I did all the tracing and fusing, and gluing or whatever, I had most of it sewn! So I think it is my new favorite! Here are a couple of pictures!

Lots of new wool in the shop now, so today I plan to dye a bunch of colors so the shelves will be full when Gretchen, Judy and I leave for Houston!!!!!   Have a great day!

  1. Love the new project.
I have always wanted to learn needle turn applique.
So far I only applique with wool, no turning.
I am excited about the new magazine.

  2. ADD...I must have it also...I ALWAYS loved beginning something new often with unfinished projects; but, I don't know how to class me now as I haven't even begun a new stitchery in a while. I need to "work" on the little Primitive Church Doll Roll for my g'daughters!
Your works always look very nice:)

  4. Thanks Katie! I had wanted to do it, but just never got past thinking about it! I think it will get easier and faster as I feel comfortable with it. I was hoping to work on it at the shop a little, but instead dyed about 32 yards of wool today! I also started quilting a new quilt sample one of our helpers brought in today! Tonight I plan to sew! I do love wool applique, and think the project would look great in wool! Thanks again for commenting!

  5. Hi Gail! Thanks very much! I have always liked the church dolls too! Keep thinking I'll make them for the little ones in Church! I can check with Gretchen to make sure your subscription came through. We haven't put any charges through yet, as we were waiting on our new machine that will patch it through to our new account. She was going to be working on that at home tonight! I'm not sure if the system does a confirmation, so I'll check! Thanks very much again, and also for commenting!
