Yesterday, I spent a little time assembling the "A Life of Plenty" quilt together, and took a few photos as I went along! It forced me to finish stitching down some leaves on a few of the blocks, so that was good! I now have it up on the design wall, and will be figuring out what to do with the borders! It's a busy quilt, so I may make it very simple!
Here are the pictures, and you can see I've put sections of blocks together, and it's pretty simple!
Enjoy!
This is the top half.....click picture to see full image here, and below!
The bottom half

Ta Da!
I'll try to get the borders figured and put on in the next couple of days, and post again!
How will you be quilting your quilt??? Be a follower, answer with your comment, and I'll draw a name from the comments for a pretty bundle of hand dyed wool! I'll draw the winner Monday morning!
Have a great day!
Jeni
It turned out beautiful! I think a little meandering in the open areas and a few echos. Love it!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, it's wonderful, Jeni. I love the layout. I just discovered this quilt a few weeks ago and have not yet begun. When I do make the blocks and sew them into a top I know I will hand quilt it (but don't know exactly how). Thank you so much for making this available to all of us. I follow on feedly but I'm happy to follow on Google Friend Connect, too.
ReplyDeleteMy top is finished and I have already done a single border ... Now I'm going to start quilting, simple as around the grounds. With the group on facebook, it was super.Thank Jeni.
ReplyDeleteTurned out just beautiful. Mine isn’t quite finished but I plan on Lots of In the ditch stitching around the appliqué and free motion fillers in the background. I am already a follower of your great blog.
ReplyDeleteI follow you through Bloglovin'. Your quilt is darling and you were so generous to freely share the patterns.

ReplyDeleteThank you! It looks great!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeni,
ReplyDeleteAmazing layout! My plan is to utility quilt it with perle cotton. I think some people call it big stitch.
I have to admit I'm not a cat person and am doing something different for that block. Thanks so much for this lovely freebir.
I look forward to seeing what you do with the borders.
I have your blog linked on mine and check it all the time.
Long arm quilting. Can't wait to get it completed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being so generous with us! Do it again:))
Well I would do hand Baptist fans! That is my favorite on quilts like this!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt. The minute I saw the quilt, my love for primitive came back. I would hand quilt
ReplyDeleteOh Jenny, I just LOVE this. I haven't started but so desperately want to, I think it might be just the right timing for me to start. As for quilting, perhaps I should start the quilt first! (*****Please don't put me in the draw as I won when you chose the name I picked for this beautiful quilt, 'Life of Plenty').
ReplyDeleteI will do machine quilting and spend time detailing the sunflowers, pumpkins etc. Thanks for the pattern and sharing a give away. Karin E.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt top so far. I would do some big stitch hand quilting. Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteBig stitch quilting with perle cotton! Love the patterns! What a fun project! HUGS... and stitches
ReplyDeleteI am behind in making my top. I am also out of town and not near my fabrics for several weeks. I have to print the last 2 blocks, so please don't delete them. Thanks for your generosity in sharing this gorgeous quilt. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt! I didn't find your blog on time to sew along with you but after seeing what your quilt looks like I fell in love with it. I would finish it off with a narrow orange then a medium beige and then larger black border with black binding. I just learned how to machine quilt so I would machine quilt it in the ditch.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what yours looks like when it's done.
Happy sewing,
Leanne
Wow I love the layout. All my blocks are completed so I am off to make a start on putting the quilt together. As I am learning all about hand quilting at present I think I will hand quilt. It will be good practise plus I think it just fits with your wonderful design. Thank you for your generosity.
ReplyDeleteI think I will big stitch quilt it with Valdani pearl cotton. I love how it turned out. Thank-you for this pattern.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any wool at all, so I would love to win this! I think a quilt like this screams for hand quilting instead of machine quilting. I am hoping to keep the whimsical nature of the quilt by choosing a different quilting to specifically go with each block.
ReplyDeleteI would use primitive big stitching in a contrasting color around all the applique.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt Jen !! I've been collecting the pattern parts---hope to get started soon !
ReplyDeleteI have been collecting the patterns too. I am just finishing my first wool applique quilt from Quiltmaker called Love Blooms Here. I dyed a lot of the wool with Kool-ade and food coloring. It was so much fun to do! Plus my 11 year old daughter helped me. My husband took pictures of the process. We dyed a lot of wool that day! I loved blanket stitching and am now addicted. I am planning on hand quilting that one. I would love to do your quilt next and will use wool again. So nice to stitch with. I will hand quilt it as well. Thanks for the wonderful patterns. K-
ReplyDeleteI will do some big stitch quilting on it and figure it out as I go ...
ReplyDeleteWow, tough question. I will have talk it over with my quilter. She has lots of great suggestions when it comes to quilting each block separately. I think I might even want to hand quilt it myself. (which I have never done) Thanks so much for the quilt design, it is so wonderful and colorful.
ReplyDeleteOh I was hoping you would get yours all together, because I am SO CLOSE to getting mine together too!! I really love this quilt, and I am so appreciative of your time and talent, putting this all together for everyone! Whoop!! I am a follower, of course. I have been pondering the quilting...I may do big stitch around the applique and some fun stitching in the open spaces. This is what I will be working on today...getting it all together!!
ReplyDeleteI am doing the hand stitching, with these patterns. They are so beatiful! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am falling in love with wool projects and love this quilt. I can't wait to see the finished products
ReplyDeleteOh, Jeni, it's beautiful! I can hardly wait to get mine finished. Thank you so much for the patterns! Angeliasue (angel4u2@cox.net)
ReplyDeleteI like the layout of your "A Life of Plenty" quilt. I would hand quilt the quilt.
ReplyDeleteI want to hand quilt mine when it is done. I love the quilt all put together and cannot wait to see what you do for he borders! Thanks for the opportunity to win some hand dyed wool. I have yet to venture into hand dying!
ReplyDeleteI just love this quilt....still thinking about how it will be quilted. The border may influence the quilting once I see what your design will be.
ReplyDeleteJust love this! Thanks for sharing your talent. Haven't started it yet, but am so inspired to begin! I like the idea of primitive hand quilting, and am also planning to add some embroidery embellishments to some of the wool applique! Thanks for this opportunity!
ReplyDeleteLike you, this may be the just the push I need to finish up! I CAN'T WAIT.... to finish mine, to see yours completed, and to see all the other finished projects! I am only a couple blocks behind (Flying Geese & 2 House blocks). I will probably "Big Stitch" by hand to quilt it up. Yay!!!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love it !!! i will Quilt it the old fashion way, by hand :) just to cute to do it any other way !!
ReplyDeleteDès que je l'aurais monté entièrement après j'ajouterais une bordure. Pour le quiltage cela sera à la main. Merci Jeni pour cette belle aventure.
ReplyDeleteI am still working on some of the last blocks. It is a wonderful quilt. thanks for sharing the blocks.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to gather fabrics for a wool applique quilt. I want to do it all by hand. I'm so in awe of what you do and never in my life time will I be that good but you are so inspiring!!! Thanks for sharing your talent!
ReplyDeleteFantastic quilt! Your work is gorgeous. I follow you via email.
ReplyDeleteThe finished product is just darling! It looks like it wants to be hand quilted but I will probably machine quilt mine...it takes me too long to do hand quilting. Thanks for such a sweet quilt design!!!
ReplyDeleteMine's going to be quilted by my long arm gal and I usually let her decide what to do. She never disappoints. This has been a very fun quilt-along--hope you do it again.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that it's calling me to hand quilt it, so I can call out certain details. Thanks so much for this beautiful sew-along.
ReplyDeleteHi jeni! Glad your back! I'm a little behind. I just printed the new patterns, love the star block. I'm going to do the big stitch quilting with floss. The quilt looks great put together can't wait for the borders.
ReplyDeleteI'm behind due to two hospitalizations but as soon as I get it finished I think I my hand quilt it with a big stitch using perle cotton.
ReplyDeleteHand Quilt! Might use a thin thread big stitch or just hand quilting thread around applique and inside the pieced. Just love the blocks as individuals but all together... lovely! Thank you so much for all you do!
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful!. I would quilt mine with embroidery, straight line quilting and echo quilting. I have tried free motion and it is not my thing. Thanks for this wonderful pattern.
ReplyDeleteJanet
It's fabulous! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. This will probably go to a professional. It's too big for me to handle on my machine and it would never get finished if I hand quilted it.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. I have only started the first 2 blocks and since I am a teacher this one probably won't be finished until summer vacation!
ReplyDeleteIt may be simple, but it is also beautiful! When I make wool quilts I do the quilting by hand. I just can't put it under the sewing machine when I've done so much handwork on it! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteYour Quilt looks very nice.
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome! I just have a few blocks to finish so I too can get them sewn together. Can't wait to see what you do with the borders. This has been such a fun sew along. Thank you for sharing it with us & thank you for a chance to win some pretty wools.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the quilt come together. I'm a bit behind but will catch up, soon I hope. Thank you for sharing this beautiful quilt with us and giving us the chance to win. It has been fun following along on your blog. Anxious to see the borders, will wait patiently.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! Can't wait to see the quilt with the borders. I haven't started mine yet. When I do get it pieced, I'll hand quilt it. Thank you so much for the patterns! You're awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't started yet either. I will have it quilted for me. I am okay at piecing but not the quilting. Too scared of the sewing machine. Love this pattern thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWith all the handwork on this quilt I think it deserves to be quilted by hand too! Sure hope I can get caught up on it soon - it's been such a fun project!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower so I have not taken part in the project but I would say that it would have to be hand-quilted! Thanks for the chance to win the wool. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your projects.
ReplyDeleteI am a little behind on my blocks but it will definitely be hand quilted. I may just quilt a quarter inch inside each block and around each motif and then inside some of the motifs to make different parts stand out. Thanks so much for this great project!
ReplyDeleteJen, I Love This Quilt! Just getting mine together today. I am so happy I kept up with your blocks. My friends all wish they had done it. Thank you so much!
