I finished my little quilt last night at Open Craft night at the shop! I plan on going in early to quilt it before class, so I can just sew on the binding during class! I hope everyone does okay with the paper piecing. It sure can be tricky to get your head around it! Haha! Thanks ladies for the suggestions on finishing the quilt! I hope the light striped wool shows up in the picture that I used for the candy canes! I love that wool! I'll take some pictures during class today to share with you later!
    Have a great day!

  1. Nice piece. I don't like to make that type star but so like the look of all the different background pieces with the star.

    1. Thank you Karen! It was a tricky star to paper piece with all the angles! It did finally work out though! The class ladies worked really hard to get theirs done, but it was tricky for them too! They got the hang of it after a few tries!
      Thanks!

  3. Very cute! It would be fun to quilt with a big stitch. I'm like you with paper piecing - it takes a while (and more than I like to admit wasted fabric) to get my brain to wrap around the concept.

Yep, it was a doosy! Haha! Almost done with it, and will post pictures tomorrow morning while having coffee! I had a class today also, teaching Needle Turn and also invisible machine applique! So I didn't have time to finish the binding yet and post a picture!
Your quilt came for the Summer issue, and it is WONDERFUL!!! I will have to make one for me!
      Thanks again,

      Thanks again, Jeni

  5. That is adorable--was the pattern in the most recent Primitive magazine? If so, will definitely dig mine out and get started on it. Too cute!

    2. Thanks so much, Sherrill! I made an error in our shop phone number above, so deleted the message! The pattern wasn't in the magazine, I just designed it this week for my class! We don't have it on the website yet, but you can get the kit or pattern from the shop! The name of it is Stars, Canes & Hollys! The kit includes all the fabric, wool and pattern for $30 and the shop number is 304-375-9665, if you are interested! We also just sell the pattern!
      Thanks again, so much!
